Roscoe Robinson - Tis Yuletide (Gerri 002)

Tis Yuletide

Yes, it's that time of year again, folks... time to pull out those Christmas 45s, and fill the air with warm vinyl goodness. Here's one of my favorites, produced by our friend Roscoe Robinson for his own Gerri label back in 1969. The flip of Don't Forget The Soldiers (Fighting In Vietnam), it's another great 'message' song from the man who probably walked the line between Gospel and R&B better than anyone else. Roscoe, who recently turned 81, was still just knocking 'em dead at the Brooklyn Soul Festival last summer. He is truly one of a kind. I'd like to take this opportunity to say thank you, Mister Robinson, for over fifty years of phenomenal music.

And now, as things begin to get truly crazy around here, please allow me to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and "enough joy and laughter to last throughout the coming year...".

I hope Santa treats you good!

your pal,
-red
